Rice's Local Hive Honey, which is bottled in Greeley, is one of the Colorado products included in a friendly wager between Colorado and Florida officials on the NBA Finals. Colorado State Treasurer Dave Young, a former Greeley-Evans School District 6 teacher, and Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis made the food-based wager on the outcome of the finals series between the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat. The best-of-7 series begins Thursday evening in Denver. The men made a similar wager last year during the Stanley Cup finals between the Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning, according to a news release from Young's office.
